Open Position: Assistant Manager

Eligibility Requirements
  • MQF Level 4 in Childcare
  • A valid Paediatric First Aid Certificate

  • Currently studying MQF level 5 in Leadership for Children’s Care learning and development
Suitable candidates will have the adaptability, energy, enthusiasm, and interest needed to help establish our innovative new centre. They will educate with care and love. Candidates who have experience in other centres will be an advantage

  • To take day to day responsibility for children and staff alongside the Manager; – To ensure high standards of care at Lil’ Ville;
  • To develop and amend the Activity list and Curriculum with the management, based on the chosen themes.
  • To maintain a safe and healthy environment for children and to create a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere; ensuring that all needed supplies are available and maintained, furniture and equipment is maintained, maintenance requests are sent 
  • To attend meetings and undertake training as required; – To revise policies and procedures as required;
  • To adhere to Child Protection Policy of Lil’ Ville and report any concerns; – To prepare long term, medium term and short-term plans;
  • To ensure that the administrator maintains all records required by the Education Department, Jobs Plus and By Lil’ Ville;
  • To develop ongoing positive relationships with parents and discuss with carers any difficulty the child might be having, including behavioural difficulties or any circumstance the child would have experiences on that day, where the parent will need to be notified immediately;
  • To facilitate regular staff meetings once a week alongside the manager and discuss with areas of improvement;
  • To help with recruitment, induction and training required for staff;
  • To aid the manager in performance appraisals which will be based on the following criteria:
  • To be able to take charge and direct children and staff in case of an emergency;
  • To ensure effective systems to track children’s developmental milestones and outcomes are in place and are regularly updated
  • To be aware of, administer and comply with College personnel policies and collective agreement provisions;
  • To provide support and direction to caregivers regarding child development; and 
  • To perform any other reasonable duties that may be assigned from time to time.
